Jenna and I went shopping at Ulta today, a make up store. I followed her up and down the aisles as she looked and touched almost everything. In between the straightening irons and the long lasting lashes her eyes lit up as she told me she felt like a kid in a candy store. I smiled because I was thinking about Monday night football and whether I might win the high score in fantasy football this week. She stretches my mind more and more each year as I watch her evolve into a person seperate from me. She's a better cook than I am, which isn't too hard. Science comes easy for her. She tried to explain the periodic table to me last night, but it didn't look any easier this time than it did in college. I put her in soccer and softball when she was younger, because I thought she would fall in love with it like I did, but she does things in her own timing. She played lacrosse until she was forced to play on the girl's team and tackle football with 6th grade boys making sure her coach stopped lining her up against the smaller boys so she could take on everyone. She is like a gift that I get to unwrap every day, always finding something new. Omg! I've gotta go. She just pierced her ear!
