Our youth group hosts an event called Bash Night, where they get all these great inflatables; sumo wrestling, lazer tag, obstacles course, etc. and they have games and food. Seventh through twelth graders come and invite their friends. It's become such a popular event that word gets around the schools as it's coming up and over half the attendees don't belong to our church. It completely non-threatening, which makes it a lot easier for our kids to later invite their friends to church and everyone feels comfortable. My husband and I volunteered for the evening. I worked at the concession stand. The lady I worked with, Roxanne, owns The Pomegranite. She's a designer and the store is full of the best home decorating supplies. I also got to work with Todd, my nemisis in Fantasy Football. He's the one who gives me a lot of trouble because he can't beat me. Joe and I had a Mountain Dew chug contest which I lost. I guess some things aren't like riding a bike. lol. So, our whole family had a great time at a church on a Saturday night with their friends. What more could we ask for. Thanks to Five Oaks Church and Tim and Kris for making it happen.
