My family and I are in Beaver, Pennsylvania visiting our good friend's, John and Michele Westurn. They moved here a couple years ago from Cottage Grove, MN. All the kids are having a movie/sleepover in the basement tonight and Andy and Jenna voluntarily went to school with Josh, Rachel and Melonie today. I jogged with John down this beautiful road that meanders through the hills and then walked up the 90 degree incline on the way back. We played our favorite card game, 500. Michele and I kicked our husband's butts, which was long overdo. Tomorrow we're going into Pittsburgh and then attenting the church where John is the Executive Pastor. We got to sit in on their church small group Thursday evening shortly after we arrived. I loved it. There was great discussion, lots of laughter and it was fun to meet some of their new friends. We haven't spent much time with John and Michele in the last 2 years, but being here with them feels like we haven't missed a beat. What a blessing to have friends like that. We won't wait this long again to make the trip out here. A 13 hour drive is a small price to pay for the awesome friendship we have with this family. I'm not sure how I continuously forget the importance of friendship over accomplishments, but I'm so glad God pushes us to get our priorities straight. Relationships are the only things we can take with us in the end and really, what else is there?
