Almost 40!

I think I've mentioned before that I get motion sickness when I play the xbox too long, but I love playing Call of Duty with my boys, so I play it as long as I can before I feel whoozy.  Last weekend I tried sitting further away from the tv because the screen is so big and the graphics are so awesome, you really feel like you're running around in the game.  It helped a little, but I noticed I was feeling whoozy more often than just after playing xbox.  It seemed to happen after reading or writing on my computer for long periods of time, which was a little distressing since I'd like to have a writing career.

JB has been telling me to see the eye doctor for years now and I have refused to believe I have a problem (that sounds familiar). A few days ago Johnny and I were walking through the craft store looking for items to complete our Peeparama (see previous blog) when I ran across an end cap filled with reading glasses.  I have enjoyed years of fun at the expense of my older friends, so I was worried  that buying these glasses would not only be admitting defeat to JB, but could be ammunition for relentless, yet deserved payback.  I swore Johnny to secrecy and slipped them onto the cashier's counter with our other craft supplies.  I have secretly worn them every time I sit down at the computer and my headaches are gone! JB finally caught me one day when I forgot I had them on and I ended up telling several friends because the realization that I'm aging was too much for me to handle alone. Thankfully, I have merciful friends who are sympathetic rather than vengeful and I am getting ever so slightly better at taking advice from JB, like last night when I asked which flavor he likes better; lemonade or orange flavor Metamucil.
